Lessons & coaches.
Private and semi-private lessons, booster sessions and full training plans for skaters chasing their next test, competition or personal best.
Certified. Background checked. Committed to Miami.
All of our coaches are members of U.S. Figure Skating, the Professional Skaters Association and USA Hockey. Every coach has passed a background check through the National Center for Safety Initiatives and is SafeSport certified through the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, because our athletes' safety comes first, every session, every time.
Three ways to book a lesson
Approach an instructor
See a coach you like on the ice during a public session or freestyle? Ask them directly. Most of our instructors book sessions right on the ice.
Send a Private Lesson Request
Email us and the Director of Figure Skating will match you with the right coach. Request volume is high, so please allow up to one week for a response.
Email a requestDrop in for a lesson
Need something sooner? Drop-in lessons run first come, first served on Thursday afternoons and Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Drop-in scheduleHow lessons work at Miami Ice.
Our instructors are independent contractors, so a little of the logistics work differently than a typical class. Here is what to expect.
- Instructors are independent contractors
- Scheduling & cancellations go through your instructor
- Lesson fees do not include ice time, admission or skate rental
- Pay at the Skate School counter for your lesson ticket
Lesson fees range from $40 to $60 per half hour, depending on instructor and level. Bring your lesson ticket to hand to your coach on the ice.
